The INES Summer School (second edition) is the practical translation of a funded Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) "Innovative teaching and learning paths for the prevention of new drugs abuse" coordinated by the Department of Education Studies, University of Bologna.
BIP "... are short, intensive programmes that use innovative ways of learning and teaching, including the use of online cooperation. [...] By enabling new and more flexible mobility formats that combine physical mobility with a virtual part, blended intensive programmes aim at reaching all types of students from all backgrounds, study fields and cycles"*.
During the first period of virtual mobility, we have organized online synchronous seminars in which we warmly ask you to participate.
We will meet for a first organizational meeting on 12 May, at 16:00 CET via Microsoft Teams. During the meeting (1 hour), we will introduce you to the Summer program and the activities you will need to do before you arrive in Bologna.
One important thing: this summer will require teamwork from everyone; it will not be an isolated experience!
SUMMER SCHOOL (TITLE)
Interdisciplinary research approaches to disseminate Open Educational Resources in the field of the use prevention of new psychoactive substances (NPS)
PARTNERSHIP
University of Transylvania (Romania), University of Porto (Portugal), Charles University in Prague (Czech Republic), University of Malaga (Spain), University of Bologna (Italy – coordinator)
New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) represent a large and increasing group of chemical compounds, mainly of synthetic nature, characterized by pharmacological and toxicological properties particularly dangerous for consumers' health. As underlined in the last European Drug Report (EMCDDA, 2018), NPS continues to challenge public health: "[the priority is] to identify and respond to the emergence of drugs that have been lacking elsewhere”. It is important to identify the specific characteristics of the “market” where NPS are available and who this type of compound's target groups (consumers) are. At a European level, it is estimated that about 5% of young Europeans aged between 15 and 24 years have already consumed at least one of these new drugs (Flash Eurobarometer, 2011).
The Blended Intensive Program (BIP) transformed into the 'INES Summer School,' considering the results achieved within the 'Innovative Teaching and Learning Paths for the Prevention of New Drug Abuse' (INES) project, coordinated by Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna (2021-2024, http://ines.unibo.it/)
Aim of the Summer School: to enhance, disseminate, and expand some of the results of the INES project by involving a different target group than the one envisaged. University students, in this course, after an initial period of training, will have the opportunity to participate and collaboratively create Open Educational Resources (videos, infographics, interactive presentations, podcasts, tests etc.) on the following topics.
- Classification and categorization of New Psychoactive Substances;
- Toxic effects and Risk assessment;
- Diffusion Channels;
- Representation of NPS use in mainstream channels.OBJECTIVES
Starting from the results of the INES E+ project (ines.unibo.it), our BIP engages university students from partner universities to understand and create Open Educational Resources on New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) topic.
RESULTS
The overall objective of the program is to foster exchange and collaboration among students from different university backgrounds through the study/depth of the NPS topic from an interdisciplinary perspective
